With Tech N9ne’s recent Bad Season mixtape, Kutt Calhoun delivers another scene-stealing performance with verses on the three tracks he was able to appear on. Despite only being able to appear on such a limited number due to his absence during the making of the mixtape, Kutt’s bars on “Livin’ Like I’m Dyin’”, “Sex To The Beat”, and “Down For The Block” are sure to make their mark on listeners fresh to the sound of the Strange Music MC. I sat down with Kutt and discussed his thoughts on the Bad Season mixtape, even asking him if he thought it was made in his absence because of his scene-stealing tenencies. Kutt also addresses the different appeal he has than Tech N9ne and Krizz Kaliko, stressing that he feels he needs to work harder than his counterparts at the label in order to reach his target audience. Straight from Bad Season, “Livin Like I’m Dyin” features Tech N9ne, Kutt Calhoun, Krizz Kaliko, and the CES CRU (Ubiquitous and Godemis). The funky, sample-heavy track bangs with an over-the-top bass line. Produced by the Haitian Super Heroes (Whoo Kid and Red Spyda), the beat gives the MCs a perfect canvas for their positive vibes. “Livin Like I’m Dyin” finds each MC partying to the fullest and reminiscing on their accomplishments as they anticipate their last day.

XXL Magazine has dropped yet another single from the highly anticipated Bad Season mixtape. “Sex To The Beat” features Tech N9ne, Kutt Calhoun, Bizzy, and Krizz Kaliko ripping into a Cookin Soul production that sounds like it came straight from the Dirty South. This is the first track leaked from Bad Season that features Kutt Calhoun. As always, Kutt takes the guest feature and runs with it, flowing at a rapid melodic pace. Bloody Kutty steps into his comfort zone over the familiar subject matter in a show-stealing cameo. “Sex To The Beat” has already generated a considerable amount of buzz for Kutt Calhoun, with the support showing up in the comments section on XXLMAG.com:
“kut kills this songs
”
“THIS STRANGE MUSIC SHIT GETS STRONGER EVERY FUCKIN DAY !!!!!!! Kutt Kalhoun tore this shit up can’t wait to wake my neighbors up to this shit!!!!”

Looks like Kutt Calhoun came correct on Tech N9ne’s upcoming Bad Season mixtape. Surprise? Not to fans of the Kansas City Chief, which now includes DJ Whoo Kid. The mixtape DJ took time to drop some love for Kutt on his Twitter, and said the following:
“@KuttCalhoun and @KrizzKaliko —-> Im officially a FAN of you guys — ya’ll killed the @TechN9ne mixtape —-DAMN!!!”
However the props didn’t stop there, as DJ Whoo Kid popped up later to comment on Kutt’s latest album Raw and Un-Kutt:
“@KuttCalhoun cd goes hard!!! @Travisbarker was lovin it!!!”
Kutt will appear on three tracks on the upcoming Bad Season mixtape, set to drop on Christmas day.

The official video for Young Ghost’s “In My Hood” has been released, and it should be no surprise that Kutt Calhoun has destroyed another guest feature. The video, directed by Nathan Letteer, also features Bridge B, and special cameos by Liquid Assassin and Black Pegasus. The track features production laced with something reminiscent of the G-Funk era, and takes listeners to the place these MC’s call home. Once again, Kutt demonstrates his showstopping skills on guest verses.
