Kutt Calhoun: 2010 Strange Music MVP [Editorial]

As 2010 is rounding out, the Strange Music blogs have been asking fans to vote for their choice of album of the year.  The past year saw a number of great releases from Strange Music.  More importantly, the artists themselves had a great year.  Tech N9ne released his Lost Scripts and Seepage EPs along with his The Gates Mixed Plate collabos album.  Cognito and Brotha Lynch Hung made their Strange Music debuts by bringing a little bit of West Coast flair to the label.  Krizz and Kutt each released their third album on the label with Krizz’s Shock Treatment and Kutt’s Raw And Un-Kutt.  With such talented showings from everybody, who on Strange Music had the best year?  I find it hard to argue against the Kansas City Chief, Kutt Calhoun.

Favorite Kutt Calhoun Album? [Poll]

Now that Raw and Un-Kutt has been out for awhile and has had a chance to settle in everybody’s system, we thought it’d be a good time to get an objective opinion as to what fans think is the best album from Bloody Kutty’s catalog.  Here are your choices.  (808 drum roll…)

B.L.E.V.E. – The album that taught us how to “Keep It Keebler”, Kutt’s debut features a conscious edge to go with his fun-loving personality.  The album, whose title stands for Boiling Liquid Expanding Vicious Explosion, features cuts like “N A Whitemanzeyez”, “Hip Hop Warning”, and “Goldberg”.

Feature Presentation - Kutt’s sophomore effort jumps off with the smash single “Bunk Rock Bitch”, which has since become a Strange Music classic, in which Kutt (aided by a soaring hook by Krizz Kaliko) confesses his need for tour bus recreation. This CD also features “I See It” which as become a staple of the Strange Music live show, in which Tech and Kutt show off their dance moves in homage to the late great Michael Jackson.

Raw And Un-KuttTake a dive into The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly with Kutt Calhoun’s latest CD. This album features the debaucherous stripper anthem “Naked” as well as “Dark Knights” featuring a sick guest spot by Strange Music label mate Brotha Lynch Hung.

Kutt Calhoun With Tech N9ne Live At Red Rocks [Video]

When Strange picked up Kutt Calhoun they got more than just a dope MC, they also got a world-class showman.  In this clip, Kutt adds his signature moves and energy to an already raucous set by Tech N9ne for the Wicked Wonka Tour at Colorado’s world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre.  Highlights of the footage include Kutt getting his walk on and  towards the end of the show diving head-first into a crowd full of Juggaloes and Juggalettes.
